What to Expect

California's Napa Valley has been a source of world-class Cabernet Sauvignon for well over a century. Its warm climate and varied terrain allows for many styles of wine. One thread that runs through almost all the Cabernet based wines from Napa is their lush, ripe full-bodied feel and rich flavors of currant and berry. Wines from the valley floor, particularly around Rutherford, are famed for a dusty quality and those coming from the hillsides surrounding the valley, Mt. Veeder, Diamond Mountain and Howell Mountain for example, tend to be a little leaner with more obvious structural elements.

Reviews

This is my favorite wine for around 20 bucks to drink at home with a good home cooked meat dinner. It's smooth, but big and has just a hint of the sweet tobacco/oak that I enjoy in a cab.

This is a very complex wine. The wine needs to breathe for about 15-20 minutes befire consuming to allow the flavor to mellow and lessen the tartness. The nose is developed and slightly acidic. After letting the wine breathe, the iniial taste was sharp, but not overwelming. The follow-through is short lived, but complements italian red sauces well. After a minute or so, the aftertaste is non-existent.

Blend: 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Merlot, 1.5% Cabernet Franc, 1%Sangiovese, .5% Petite Verdot, 4% Petite Sirah, .5% Syrah, .5% Barbera The Louis M. Martini Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon exhibits a deep garnet, color with intensearomas of cedary oak, currents and black cherries. Concentrated flavors of ripe plums, chocolateand tobacco marry perfectly with the oak nuances. A well structured wine that is balanced withfirm, velvety tannins that culminate in a long, elegant finish. This wine is ready to enjoy now or can be aged 3-5 years.
