Louis Martini Cabernet Alexander Valley 2010

Winemaker's Notes:

"Martini’s 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon is very tight today, but it nevertheless dazzles with expressive dark red fruit, grilled herbs, licorice and dried flowers. An exotic, utterly beguiling Cabernet, the 2010 is long on personality and character. Tar, licorice and iron are some of the dark, brooding notes that add muscle and an element of darkness that is undeniably appealing. Readers will need to give the 2010 at least a few years in bottle. The future sure looks bright here. Best of all, within the context of California Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2010 is a steal...91+" WA 04/13

Louis M. Martini Winery:
We believe that Cabernet Sauvignon is the most noble of grapes. We believe that great winemaking begins with great vineyards, and we want the land to speak through our wines. Our wines express the best characteristics of Cabernet, the personality of the special places where our grapes are grown, and the vision and skill of the winemaker in blending balanced, engaging, and memorable wines.
Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Coconut Rice Sweet Potato Cheesecake

RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.

One of the finest bargains in California Cabernet Sauvignon must be Louis M. Martini's outstanding 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Sonoma... Fabulously sweet aromas of black currants, licorice, and cedar soar from the glass of this medium to full-bodied wine. With silky tannins as well as surprising concentration, depth, and texture, this 2006 should drink well for 8-10 years. Now owned by the Gallo family, but still run by Michael Martini, the quality of these wines merits serious attention.
