Louis M. Martini Los Ninos Marin's Selection 2002
The Los Ninos Block is a four-acre collection of 70 year old Cabernet Sauvignon vines planted in rocky soils. Although the yield is only 1-2 tons per acre, the wines possess a tannin structure that is rounder and more complex than any other block on the mountain. These wines carry all the components of the Los Ninos Cabernet vines – black currant, pepper & mixed bag of spices
We believe that Cabernet Sauvignon is the most noble of grapes. We believe that great winemaking begins with great vineyards, and we want the land to speak through our wines. Our wines express the best characteristics of Cabernet, the personality of the special places where our grapes are grown, and the vision and skill of the winemaker in blending balanced, engaging, and memorable wines.
Wow ... loved this wine. Caramel, leather and smoke in the aroma. Pepper, currant and plum flavors. Good tannin and good structure. Only lost a bit as the finish wasn't as long as the initial taste might have suggested.
