Dark plummy color. "Woody," "oaky" aromas. Actually, quite nice on the palate. Not the most full-bodied cab I've ever had, in fact, possibly the lightest I've ever had. Lots of plummy fruit on the tip of the tongue. Slight tannin puckeryness on the edges of the tongue. The finish starts with a minty sensation, but then an irritating chemical flavor pops up. Fortunately, it dissipates. I see here that Wine Advocate rated this wine 73/100 in 1996. That sounds really harsh to me. I am going to enjoy this bottle. US$30.00 at the winery in 2000.
