Louis M. Martini Cabernet Sauvignon Sonoma County 2005
The 2005 Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon was crafted from several of Sonoma County’s most prestigious appellations and blended seamlessly to bring together the unique characteristics of each, creating a superbly balanced Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine offers many layers, featuring aromas and flavors of red cherry, blackberry and fresh sage with an underlying dry creek dustiness. Subtle herbal notes are complemented by additional layers of chocolate and vanilla, resulting in an easy drinking, but complex wine.
We believe that Cabernet Sauvignon is the most noble of grapes. We believe that great winemaking begins with great vineyards, and we want the land to speak through our wines. Our wines express the best characteristics of Cabernet, the personality of the special places where our grapes are grown, and the vision and skill of the winemaker in blending balanced, engaging, and memorable wines.
This took awhile to open up and show its true self. Nose was typical Cab but there was an alcohol edge to the wine for the first half an hour. Then it demonstrated the true Sonoma Cab traits. Well balanced and bursting with cherry like fruit and very little dryness.
real nice wine with lots of flavor and nice smooth (not too thick) texture. Tastes FANTASTIC towards the front of the tounge and a little sour as it moves to the back. Great buy under $12.
