We believe that Cabernet Sauvignon is the most noble of grapes. We believe that great winemaking begins with great vineyards, and we want the land to speak through our wines. Our wines express the best characteristics of Cabernet, the personality of the special places where our grapes are grown, and the vision and skill of the winemaker in blending balanced, engaging, and memorable wines.
Editorial Reviews for Louis M. Martini Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley California Mountain
This was even darker than the 1974 with a dark stewed character on the nose and some bitter, leafy greens notes. With time the dark, almost coal like minerality pops out with a touch of old tootsie roll and carob adding interest and leading to the development of a very fudgy nose. This really had a lovely texture with everything integrated yet balanced, a sense of elegance and proportion with a long finish that reveals echos of the earth, old wood, and spicy red berry fruit that used to populate the palate. Again a bottle with less than ideal fill, very high shoulder but one that retains a very fine sense of what it was and still offers some enjoyment.
Lots of black pepper and dark fruit on the nose, supplemented by wood aromas. The attack is very smooth, with moderate tannins that give a pronounced dry feeling without much bitterness. Alcohol and nuttiness on the finish.
Full-bodied with a matching aroma and palate composition with hints of red cherry, plum, and blackberry set in a background of dry leave like tannins. Wonderful finish that lingers.
Clean ripe red fruit with a bit of spice. Candied and slightly sweet, zesty and bright.
Vintage rating : 94E Predicted year : 2014 MAX (Aged up to 5 years, but made to be drunk now). A full bodied wine that has an old world profile. Berries and vanilla show themselves on the nose while wood and leather smoothes things on the palate, finishing with lingering tannins. Nothing impressive... a decent goto wine.
Smooth mouth-feel. Not much character.
This was an excellent and most enjoyable Wine. The hint of pipe tobacco was a perfect Finish. This does not end Dry. My vavorite so far!
A good example of Napa Cabernet... Full bodied, rich, layered with a lingering finish... Dark berry flavors, tobacco, spice and oak.

This notable example first presents inviting aromas of cassis, sweet herbs and hints of pipe tobacco. On the palate, it exhibits a firm structure and intriguing flavors of ripe black cherries, deep, briary red fruits and old-world complexities that linger through a memorable finish.
The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa is an 82,000-case cuvee made from 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot and the rest Petite Sirah, Petit Verdot, Syrah and Cabernet Franc. It reveals exuberant notes of red and black fruits intertwined with hints of underbrush, licorice, unsmoked cigar tobacco and oak. Medium to full-bodied and rich, this well-made Cabernet is no shy wine at 14.75% natural alcohol. Drink it over the next 6–10 years.
Trim and restrained, with a narrow beam of currant, tobacco, cigar box and cedar. Well-made, focused and persistent. Drink now through 2020.
This dense, juicy cabernet sparkles like a black ruby, its simple lines cut by fresh and lively flavors. Solidly built and pleasing, this will go easily with most anything meaty.
A nice Cabernet that has some richness and complexity. It has easy flavors of berries, cherries, olives and herbs that are framed in thick, dusty tannins. Finishes very dry, with a sprinkling of oak. There's a tough quality that well-marbled beef will tame.
This wine is cherry red, with a cool character to the fruit and light, graham cracker-scented oak to balance it. No steroids here - just simple, pretty cabernet, sensibly priced.
Concentrated flavors of black cherry marry perfectly with the oak nuances, imparting notes of clove, vanilla and caramel. This is a well structured and balanced wine that is medium to full bodied, with a sweet mid-palate and a long, fruit-forward finish.
