Very clear and high toned with lime zest and pith notes over a bed of lightly oaked, subtle yet complex fruit tones. Lovely in the mouth with solid acids supporting a broad fleshy yet fresh mouthfeel with a touch of vanilla and hint of fresh baking spice embedded in rich apple, citrus and subtly tropical fruit tones. This has it all, richness, a suave feel and freshness. This is youthful and will improve with a year or three in the bottle but finishes with excellent minerality and length with a great finale of ripe orchard fruits, lime oil and a hint of baked pie crust. 90pts

Tart cherry nose. Fairly thin, but pleasant - well balanced, good acidity, a bit of licorice on the finish. Maraschino cherries throughout, its not bad, just a bit plain - would pair well with food though.

The creamed tea-scented 2004 Mâcon-Lugny Les Genievres is a broad, light to medium-bodied wine. Its easygoing character offers flavors of Georgia boiled peanuts, spices, and minerals. Drink it over the next 18 months.

Delightfully opulant, with a smooth, rich mouthfeel and luscious apple, pear, honey and vanilla notes. Perfect for pairing with artichokes, calamari or salads with goat cheese.

Wine Tasting NotesLugny is one of the best communes of Southern Burgundy's Mconnais region. The wine is clean and lively with a flowery bouquet and lovely honey, apples and nutty flavors on the palate.
