Louis Jadot Nuits St. Georges 2015

External Review:

Remarkably effusive in its sweet suggestions of ripe blueberry and elderberry, the Jadot 2006 Nuits-St.-Georges is juicy and generous all the way through to a lip-smacking finish. It might not harbor much complexity - although, perhaps as one enjoys it over the next 2-3 years some will emerge - but it displays the textural refinement appropriate to its fruit-forward personality , partly explained by the fact that half of the blend was raised exclusively in tank.

Maison Louis Jadot is a winery that’s proud of its heritage and land. Founded in 1859 by Louis Henry Denis Jadot, Maison Jadot expanded rapidly, taking northern Europe by storm. When his son, Louis Jean Baptiste, took over in 1900, more change took place, and many vineyards were acquired, including Corton Charlemagne and Chevalier Montrachet Les Demoiselles. With the help of Rudy Kopf, founder of the Kobrand Corporation, Maison Jadot expanded even further, setting up shop in both England and the U.S. In 1985, Madame Jadot sold the company to Rudy Kopf’s family, ensuring a successful future for the company. The land is very important to Maison Louis Jadot, and making the terroir shine through is always a priority. Maison Jadot identifies with its Burgundy heritage, and all wines are Appellation Contrôlée. The winery controls about 380 acres of land in Burgundy, including Côte d'Or, Mâconnais and Beaujolais. Jacques Lardière, winemaster, works with Christine, Guillaume, and Audrey to ensure that the single-variety wines produced, including Pinot Noir for reds, Chardonnay for whites, and Gamay for Beaujolais, always produce the best, most consistent wines. Wine Tasting NotesGenerous red berry and dark stone fruit flavors and aromas mark this robust, masculine Pinot Noir, and are offset by earth and spice notes in a vigorous, direct tannic structure.

A Pinot Noir wine from Burgundy in France. 2006 Louis Jadot Nuits St Georges les Boudots 750ml

The wines of Nuits-Saint-Georges are the sturdiest and longest-lived of the Côte de Nuits. For this outstanding 2005, Maison Louis Jadot vinifies the production of growers in the commune with whom it holds purchase agreements based on the quality of the harvest each year. The result is a classic Nuits-Saint-Georges that is deeply-colored and vigorous, with ripe, robust fruit flavors and nuances of toasted oak in the bouquet. Very limited. Nice grip and suppleness at the same time. A Burgundy with character and class, showing a core of rich and ripe fruit, and silky tannins. Oaky and spicy on the firm finish. Best from 2003 through 2008. -PM Wine Spectator. A Pinot Noir wine from Burgundy in France. 1999 Jadot, Louis Nuits St Georges Les Damodes 750ml

Among the Villages wines from the Cote de Nuits, Jadot produced a smoky, earthy Nuits St.-Georges.
