It is a young and fruity wine, with aromas of red fruits, and cherries. With a delicate structure and soft tannins, it will perfectly match with light dishes (hot entrées, white and red meat in light sauce), wine sauce dishes and white cheeses (not too strong).

This wine is still a bit young, however, it displays bright fruit and green foliage on the nose. A LOT of acidity, this wine will pair well, with and cut through fatty meat. Bright cherry and raspberry fill your mouth with more subtle notes of vanilla and clove. More tannins on the back than most Burgundy reds.

Really good French Chardonnay. Crisp, clean, hints of slate, lemon chiffon and lemon peel. Very nice acidity and a decent finish.

Alluring nose of raw beef blood and sweet perfumey floral and some nail polish and notes of slightly sour red fruit. In the mouth balanced and well-integrated elements of acid, bitterish nut, and ripe dry slightly bitter and smokey tannic sour red and dark fruit (cranberry, blackberry, dark cherry). Finish of mocha-coffee and hints of wood and mineral and faint fruit. Dry. Body medium, acid medium, tannin medium plus. Delicious.

Big funk and game on the nose. Opens up like a Syrah. Graphite, black and blue fruit, some plum, violets. IT's burly and tannic on the palate, feeling crunchy. Loads of black fruit with strong blueberry and blackberry flavors. Strong acid. Big and complex. Unexpected and very nice! Not like the usual Gamay at all. 3/8/12

I was unfamiliar with this wine until friends came over for dinner and brought a bottle along. After the first sip, I wished I was serving steamed mussels. It would be a great fit! It's got a very smooth, well-balanced bouquet and a subtle, but distinct bite. One reviewer complained of its sharpness, but if you don't want any bite, you should drink a chablis. The wine paired beautifully with the gorgonzola cheese and cucumber/humus spread w/ tomato, black greek olives, and feta cheese and carried us through the antipasto salad w/ mozarella and salami with a splash. I found it delightful. That you can get such a quality French wine for modest price makes the 2009 Jadot Chardonnay Bourgognie a wine you won't be afraid or ashamed to share with friends time and time again.

Beautifully perfumed this has swathes of ripe cherry and plum with a hint of wood aging. The balance is already well established with a line of crisp acidity that sits behind the rich sweet fruit. With its tannins this needs to age for at least three years. Wine Enthusiast.

Moderate wood frames a very pretty nose of high-toned raspberry cherry and subtle menthol nuances. There is plenty of the characteristic minerality to the refined and attractively vibrant medium weight flavors that possess a distinctly saline character on the clean and mildly austere finish. The tannins are firm but quite fine-grained and this should age well as the balance is impeccable. Outstanding Burghound.

The Chateau des Jacques 2011 Moulin-a-Vent Clos du Grand Carquelin reveals scents of nutmeg almond extract and vanilla as well as lightly cooked ripe cherry. It comes to the palate expansive and rich yet felicitously juicy and buoyant as well as possessed of alluringly bitter-sweet and elusive inner-mouth iris perfume. Along with saliva-drawing salinity and savory shrimp shell reduction the merest hint of caramelization is incorporated in its long succulent finish. Here is a classic instance of virtually 100% new wood at this estate scarcely sapping textural allure or primary juiciness a phenomenon that de Castelnau is more inclined to attribute to the quality of grape tannins and sheer extract of vinous raw material that results from long but gentle watchful fermentative extraction (usually followed by malo) as opposed to crediting the provenance or treatment of the estate's barrels (though surely these represent a glove-fit). "The wine has to be completely constructed before going to barrel" is how he puts it echoing Jean-Marie Guffens' well-known and far more than just clever adage that "a wine can take as much new wood as it doesn't need." Plan to follow this one through at least 2019. - David Schildknecht Robert Parkers Wine Advocate.

Medium red less bright than the Feusselottes. Reticent nose hints at crushed stone. Silky-sweet on entry then surprisingly open-knit in the middle with sweet berry and mineral flavors carrying nicely through a broad fine-grained finish. Has the stuffing to support its smooth tannins. Stephen Tanzers IWC.

Medium red. Powerfully mineral aromas of dark berries orange zest floral oils and crushed stone. The palate offers great class and lift showing superb definition to the flavors of red berries minerals and botanical herbs. This razor-sharp Chambolle finishes with terrific rising perfume. With extended time in the recorked bottle the wine showed distinctly darker berry character with captivating violet and mint high notes. A beauty. 93+ Stephen Tanzers IWC.

Winemaker's Notes:

Saint Véran is vinified in stainless steel tanks and bottled in spring in order to keep all its freshness and fruitiness. The resulting wine is very dry, delicate and youthful, pale straw-gold in color and with a subtle nutty flavor which lends the wine a soft roudness. It is refreshing as an aperitive. It will also be a good partner for hors d'oeuvre, delicately flavoured charcuteries, oysters, fish, snails and andouillettes.

From France's Burgundy region, this classical structured medium-bodied white wine is partly aged in oak barrels while the other part is aged in stainless steel tanks. This results in a wine with both breadth and fruitness.
