User Reviews for Louis Jadot Marsannay Blanc

Winemaker's Notes:

Maison Louis Jadot was founded in 1859 by Louis Henry Denis Jadot. He quickly developed a reputation as a high quality producer and his aim was to build his reputation as a top quality winemaker in Burgundy. To achieve this aim he continued to purchase vineyards to add to the family's earlier purchase of Beaune Clos des Ursules and Chevalier Montrachet Les Demoiselles vineyards. His Grandson, who took over at the end of WWII continued to build Louis Jadot's Domaine holdings by acquiring Grand Cru vineyards in Corton Pougets and Corton Charlemagne. Marsannay is the northernmost commune of the Côte d'Or, lying virtually on the outskirts of the city of Dijon, three miles north of Gevrey Chambertin. In 1987, Marsannay was granted its own A.O.C. appellation and became the first village for which the appellation applies to red, white and rosé wines. Maison Louis Jadot produces a nice golden Marsannay. It has a fine, open nose reminiscent of bananas, pineapples and lemon. Supple, rich and fat, this wine has a remarkably long finish. It will perfectly match ham, poultry, terrine, freshwater fish dishes and cheese like Comté. It will be able to age 8-12 years in perfect conditions of temperature and humidity.
