An expressive nose of serious, pure and layered aromas feature pungent earth and a pretty mix of red and black fruit notes that give way to rich, full and reasonably concentrated middle weight flavors that offer reasonably good complexity and are underpinned by a firm but not aggressive finish. The overall impression is rather somber and while this is a solid effort, it is perhaps less distinguished than usual.

The Clos des Ursules is a 6.8-acre enclave purchased by Louis Henry Denis Jadot in 1826 which has remained a solely-owned property of the Jadot family ever since. The « Les Epenots » vineyard consists of two parcels : « Les Petits Epenots » and « Les Grands Epenots ». They are situated in the northern part of the commune, bordering Beaune and its Premier Cru "Les Boucherottes" and Les Epenottes, and cover approximately 25 hectares. The average age of the vines is 25 years. The fermentation takes place in tanks during 3-4 weeks, after which they are aged in barrel for 12-15 months before being bottled.
