I'm in the middle of studying Burgundy wines in Karen MacNeil's "Wine Bible"...on the section of wines from Maconnais region. Louis Jadot's 2008 Macon-Villages chardonnay lives up to the taste expected of Chardonnays from Burgundy. Clean and crisp..a slight lemony taste and a definite chalky mineral lingering on the middle of the tongue. Not as assertive as a Rully of the same caliber...but almost as good. I'm quite happy with this wine...and it paired quite well with sauteed sole for dinner.
