Food Pairings for Louis Jadot Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru Estournelles France
A pungent nose of notably ripe yet airy dark berry fruit with mineral undertones that continue onto the cool, energetic and tautly muscled flavors that possess good detail on the balanced and terrifically punchy finish. This is really quite attractive and definitely worth a look as the phenolic ripeness is better here than many of the other '06s. In a word, lovely. Note that this could actually be approached now with pleasure even though it should develop nicely with half a dozen years in bottle first. Recommended.Burghound.com
