Louis Jadot Gevrey Chambertin les Cazetiers 2010

Winemaker's Notes:

"The 2010 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Cazetiers is all about detail and finesse. This finely sculpted, nuanced wine impresses for its precision and sheer elegance. Everything is simply in the right place. The sweetest, silkiest of tannins frame the finish...92-94" WA 2/12 "Good bright red. Fascinating aromas of red fruits, soil, coffee, white pepper and flowers, with some very ripe notes emerging as the sample opened in the glass. Sweet, fine-grained and primary, with lovely floral perfume lifting the lush middle palate. This penetrating beauty really spreads out to saturate the mouth. Finishes very long and aromatic, with suave tannins...91-94" IWC 1/12 "Sweet Spot Outstanding: A wonderfully broad nose offers up a beautiful array of spice, earth, menthol, toast and stone influences to the ripe yet cool aromas of red and dark berries. There is a distinct sauvage note to the rich, powerful and sleekly muscular middle weight plus flavors that ooze a very fine minerality as well as genuinely excellent complexity, all wrapped in a focused, intense and austere finish. In a word, terrific...91-94" BH 04/12

Maison Louis Jadot is a winery that’s proud of its heritage and land. Founded in 1859 by Louis Henry Denis Jadot, Maison Jadot expanded rapidly, taking northern Europe by storm. When his son, Louis Jean Baptiste, took over in 1900, more change took place, and many vineyards were acquired, including Corton Charlemagne and Chevalier Montrachet Les Demoiselles. With the help of Rudy Kopf, founder of the Kobrand Corporation, Maison Jadot expanded even further, setting up shop in both England and the U.S. In 1985, Madame Jadot sold the company to Rudy Kopf’s family, ensuring a successful future for the company. The land is very important to Maison Louis Jadot, and making the terroir shine through is always a priority. Maison Jadot identifies with its Burgundy heritage, and all wines are Appellation Contrôlée. The winery controls about 380 acres of land in Burgundy, including Côte d'Or, Mâconnais and Beaujolais. Jacques Lardière, winemaster, works with Christine, Guillaume, and Audrey to ensure that the single-variety wines produced, including Pinot Noir for reds, Chardonnay for whites, and Gamay for Beaujolais, always produce the best, most consistent wines.
