Food Pairings for Louis Jadot Beaune White Grèves
The Maconnais is a transitional region not only of Burgundy, but of France: it links the Cote d'Or and Chalonnais with the Beaujolais, and begins to turn the northern landscape gently meridional. The proliferation of tiny villages in the Maconnais under the Macon-Villages appellation is so abundant that the wines are rarely commercialized under a specific village name. The village of Lugny, located about twelve miles north of the city of Macon in the heart of the Villages appellation, is one of only three or four to have successfully established its name. The typical chalk and limestone soils yield excellent wines of well- established reputation. Maison Louis Jadot purchases wines from growers in Lugny based on the quality of the harvest each vintage. Macon-Lugny Jadot is a fresh, delicate Chardonnay of medium body with a fragrant, fruit bouquet offset by floral notes which are confirmed on the palate. The clean, well-balanced acidity carries into a crisp finish.
