Found it to be very smooth, but with some cajones for a beaujolais. A little cherry. We passed a sample of this around the table and all 8 of us really liked it. Then they told us they didn't have any more bottles in stock. It speaks for the wine that everyone was disappointed. We sampled the '04.
yummy, deep golden colour, very complex & rich, lots of character - could almost be a dessert wine it's so thick - although not overly sweet - a goosebumpy delight, tastes very fresh - much more oompf than you expect from your average white. Recommend thorough chilling and a decanter to bring out the full tingle down your spine. Drink now; don't let it methylate...

Maison Louis Jadot was founded in 1859 by Louis Henry Denis Jadot. He quickly developed a reputation as a high quality producer and his aim was to build his reputation as a top quality winemaker in Burgundy. To achieve this aim he continued to purchase vineyards to add to the family's earlier purchase of Beaune Clos des Ursules and Chevalier Montrachet Les Demoiselles vineyards. His Grandson, who took over at the end of WWII continued to build Louis Jadot's Domaine holdings by acquiring Grand Cru vineyards in Corton Pougets and Corton Charlemagne. Maison Louis Jadot bought the Château des Jacques in 1996. It is situated in Moulin à Vent, between Fleurie and Chenas, and has a 27 ha vineyards of 'Moulin à Vent'. The Moulin à Vent wine is now referred to as the "King of Beaujolais", and is considered to be the most Burgundian Cru of Beaujolais. The Louis Jadot Moulin à Vent "Clos de Rochegrès" has a very nice garnet-red colour with crimson tints. This wine has a complex and meaty nose, typical of a good Burgundy. It releases very fine aromas of flowers (rose) with a touch of mineral. The wine is generous and tender on the palate thanks to the elegant and long lasting tannins. This wine will perfectly match red meats in sauce, game and most cheeses.
