What to Expect

The Gamay grape finds it's home in France's Burgundy region where it is responsible for the red wines of Beaujolais. Producing light to medium bodied wines with modest tannins and good acidity, Gamay is unfairly associated with Beaujolais Nouveau. It is capable of producing wonderful, cherry and raspberry flavored wines with earthy hints of violets and spice.

Reviews

This is a good wine for those of you who are looking for something mellow and smooth for a dinner party. Now more of your wine "snobs" will expect more but for the price you really can't go wrong. I enjoy this with various cheese, crackers, and apples. Of course it will hold up to a full dinner, but it is nice as a first bottle / appetizer wine.

A nice light red made from the Gamay grape. Smooth with fine tannins; nice fruity flavors with good subdued second and third-tier flavors. Easy and pleasant finish, if somewhat short, but then, it is a light wine.

Rating: 85/100 - As reviewed by Wine & Spirits Magazine on 04/09 Pour this light, clean, cherry-fruited Beaujolais on a picnic with landjaeger sausages.

I'm torn about this wine. It was very easy to drink, and perfectly tasty, but there was certainly nothing about it that made me want to buy it again, except for perhaps safety. However, I think that safety comes with the eponymous Jadot label rather than the wine itself. I must say, though, it stood up well to barbecue.

Fruity initially then smooth on the back end. Slightly dry. A good wine for under $10.
