What to Expect

The Gamay grape finds it's home in France's Burgundy region where it is responsible for the red wines of Beaujolais. Producing light to medium bodied wines with modest tannins and good acidity, Gamay is unfairly associated with Beaujolais Nouveau. It is capable of producing wonderful, cherry and raspberry flavored wines with earthy hints of violets and spice.

Reviews

Jadot Beaujolais is a delicious blend of fruit and floral scent and sweet berry flavors, set by peppery notes. A charming wine best appreciated in its youth

Intensely fragrant and crisp, Beaujolais-Villages Jadot is a vivacious, succulent wine of exceptional charm full of bright, floral fruit flavors underscored by youthful, peppery notes and plump tannins. Delicious slightly chilled, its lively freshness is best appreciated when young. To enhance the quality of the wine, Jadot also practices a replis, whereby wines from various crus of Beaujolais are declassified and added to the blend, constituting up to forty percent of the final cuvee in some vintages. Though costly, this measure yields a wine of superior structure, depth and complexity.
