Lot 235 Clear Lake Zinfandel 2007

Winemaker's Notes:

Notes: Flavors are big, boisterous, and dense with black fruit and zin-berry. This wine is layered with espresso and beautifully balanced oak. Fantastically built, this wine shows great acidity and a firm structure all the way through the complex lingering finish. Cameron Confidential: hails from the Clear Lake region of Lake County just north of Napa Valley and still riding the Mayacamas range. The 1.5 acre block of head-trained zinfandel fruit hails from is a seriously steep and rocky hillside at 2,250 feet elevation. Yields are naturally sub-two tons to the acre with cluster spacing that produces intense fruit resulting in very dark and highly structured zinfandel. The 2007 Madder Lake Vineyard Zinfandel is powerful stuff with pure zinfandel fruit seated nicely on a cabernet-like frame (it’s amazing what 2% petite sirah can do). A simply fantastic wine that easily age another 5-7 years. Normally this wine sells under other labels for $32 a bottle but we have all 269 cases priced at $12/bottle. Trust me on this one, if you like zinfandel grab this wine today before it’s gone.

Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Layered Rice Pudding

RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.
