Lot 226 Casablanca Chardonnay 2008

Winemaker's Notes:

Notes: Pale golden center with matching rim. A spacious and gorgeously complex nose of ripe pear, gunflint, peaches, and hints of hazelnuts around the edges. Smooth entry with more pear and peach fruit, slatey minerality with hints of cream and a long, lively finish. Utterly seamless wine both aromatically and across the palate. Cameron Confidential: One of the great surprises about my buying trip down to Chile was the tremendous diversity of regions for winegrowing. From the warmer climates of the Maipo, Colchagua and Valle Central to the Casablanca and Leyda Valleys, Chile has it all. All three wines (225, 226, 227) are from one producer, a group of Casablanca’s top growers who built a winery with the express purpose of partnering with importers from around the globe both under their own labels and importer labels such as Cameron Hughes. The focus is purely on top quality, small lot wine production with no expense spared.
