What to Expect

Chardonnay is America's most popular grape and with good reason. Made in styles that range from steely, mineral laced wines with crisp green apple fruit to wines that are buttery, rich, and laden with tropical fruits, there is a Chardonnay that will appeal to every palate. Chardonnay is most closely associated with France's Burgundy region and California's Northern valleys though it has proven successful around the globe.

Winemakers Notes

Los Vascos’s Chardonnay has a limited production. The objective is to make a fresh and delicate wine, with a harmonious and fruity bouquet.
The vineyard’s own Chardonnay grapes are complemented by a selection of grapes from Casablanca valley located further north between Santiago and Valparaiso, which is renowned for its great Chardonnay production.Following a winter and spring with moderate rainfall, the summer of 2007 was particularly hot leading to an early harvest for the whites with a nice balance of ripeness.

This vintage has a brilliant and clear colour with read more...golden reflections. It has an explosive nose of melon, grapefruit and exotic fruit coupled with the typical Chardonnay note of hazelnut. In the mouth, it is rich, fresh and pleasantly fruity with good structure and a long finish.

This Chardonnay should be drunk young, as an appetizer, with oysters, white meat, fish or cheeses. It should be opened one hour before serving at between 10 ° to 12 ° C.    (hide)
