Los Vascos Cabernet Sauvignon 2009
Brilliant red ruby color. Deep and pleasant mature fruit such as dark cherries, blackberries and plums. Notes of raspberry jam, candied fruit and white chocolate. Spices of black pepper, nutmeg, bay leaves and cloves. Sweet and round tannins. In the mouth, there is good volume, structure and balance. A good classic.
Wonderful cab, not much nose but the flavor is amazing, cherries, cassis, berries, nutmeg, spicy aftertaste and enough tannins to tickle your uvula
Pretty good for under ten, though there is a weird scent of band aids (love it, but it's still strange) and a little hot which gets in the way of the robust fruit that just peaks out from underneath.
Light tannins, very drinkable but complex. Plums and leather on the palate.

Domane Baron de Rothschild, owners of Lafite Rothschild discovered this vineyard in Chile's Colchagua Valley in the late '80's and have been producing super value Cab from here ever since. The winemaking team is from Lafite and the grapes are all grown in the estate's 1,300 acre vineyard. Vineyard plots are vinted separately, all under temperature controlled conditions and and aged in oak barrels. This 2009 shows spicy licorice, blackberry, tobacco and minerals. A Cab that's distinctly reminiscent of its Bordeaux roots.
The wine shows a very deep red color, almost purple. The nose presents a very nice intensity and reveals fresh and ripe red fruit aromas. It is pure and defined. The long ageing brings notes of oak that are pleasantly integrated to the wine. It is accompanied with light toasted aromas and some spicy notes (a Carmenère feature); both are soft and do not dominate the wine. On the palate, the wine is at first, rather soft and discreet but it rapidly acquires an elegant fullness. The tannins are round and supple at first and become powerful and tight. The wine remains harmonious, balanced and introduces a nice freshness, a typical feature of Cabernet Sauvignon when conditions of ripening are optimum. - Winery ** SOLD OUT **
