Editorial Reviews for Los Alisos Syrah Santa Barbara County
Sweet, freshly sliced plums, candied black berry, fine oak, violet, rose petal and ground black pepper. A bit tight and quite focused up front with fine integrated acids, sweet fruit, red plummy fruit with a bit of sweet, cinnamony backing oak. The oak is a touch more prominent on the mid-palate which shows some liquory red berry fruit, a bit of buttery toast and some nice floral and strawberry tones that lead to a soft, rich lightly herb inflected back end and a bright succulent finish with the tannins just popping above the fruit and offering some nice mouthgrab on the finale. 89pts
User Reviews for Los Alisos Syrah Santa Barbara County
Add your reviewpeppery nose with loads of black fruit, some plum jams, and spice. palate offers black currants, same pepper notes on the palate and bold dark fruit flavors.
Anise, chocolate and plummy nose. Dense baked fruits upfront, with a surprising attack of acidity. Finishes on jammy blueberry, licorice and chocolate hazelnut spread.
Nose of ripe dark berries - bramble fruits, hint of cocoa, wood and a hint of lemon spice.
deeply purple core to pale magenta rim, intense on the nose with dusty violets, warm spice, candied nuts, and dark plums. good acid balance, smooth but weighty tannins, the tiniest bit hot (perhaps I'm drinking this too warm in actual temperature). medium to long finish. good quaffable stuff.
Herby, almost floral aromas with berries and some warm spices. Maybe a hint of leather. Tasty.
