A beautiful nose that mixes both blue and red berry fruit aromas nuanced with lovely spice notes and hints of earth and underbrush lead to nicely intense middle weight flavors that offer good punch but the finish isn't overly well integrated just yet as the acidity sticks out somewhat. I like the nose and lacy flavors but the backend is a bit curious at present. My score offers the benefit of the doubt that things will harmonize with a year or two in bottle.

Heading further north, Keefer is a benchmark site for many top flight Pinots. It is known for a softer interpretation of fruit. Earth and spicy red fruits on the nose, cherry and creamy dark fruit on the palate, dusty acidity on the finish.

($48; 13.7%) Medium red. Spicy red fruits, cola and underbrush on the musky nose. Suppler and a bit sweeter than the Naylor offering, with a bit more ripeness to its flavors of cherry, berries and clove. In a rounder style but a wine of moderate intensity and depth.Finishes with good ripe acidity.
