Lorca Petite Sirah Napa Valley 1999

Member Review by AlfaGTV:

I had cellared this wine for a number of years and just opened it. It was well worth the wait. Great balance of tannins and fruit. Round flavor, slight initial bite but with a long, smooth finish. I had read reviews of this wine when tasted in 2007 and expected a much more average tasting. But the complexity and balance far surpassed the reviews from 07. I did decant it and then let it breathe for about 20m. Over time the initial bite receded but the overall balance and flavor held. Final note: I paid much less than the current prices I have found so at a current price per bottle approaching $50 there are equally good and better options.
