Notes of apple and pineapple/sweet tropical fruit on the nose. More sweet juicy apple on the palate, with notes of lime/citrus zest. The apple is really the most dominant flavor here, but it's kind of multidimensional, and also reminds me of baked apple/apple pie filling. I think the sweetness levels put this wine closer to off-dry. There are also tiny bubbles throughout the wine - barely noticeable, and presumably the result of some unintended secondary fermentation in the bottle. (I wonder if this may have adversely affected the wine? I know this wine is very popular, but I am not very impressed.) I think the sweetness was overpowering in relation to the fruit and acidity, and the wine strikes me as over-ripe. That said, it still paired very well with a thai takeout lunch.

I am a newbie but here goes, this wine gave me impressions of pineapples, peachy-ness and sweet fruit in the glass, upon tasting I got a fruity and somewhat mineral semi-sweetness and upon drinking I felt it was balanced well in acidity and sweetness, fruitiness and minerality. I enjoyed this wine. Shared with friends over a dinner of pork tenderloin roast w/ portabella mushrooms, young buttered potatoes, green bean casserole and dessert of pecan and pumpkin pies.

Green apple and melon on the nose. Nice acidity, just a touch of sweetness. Granny Smith apple and pineapple on the palate with some grapefruit on the finish. Kind of has that hint of bitterness on the finish that you get with grapefruit. Not much, just a touch and if not for that I'd give it a higher rating. It is, however, a very crisp and well balanced wine. A good value for the money.

It actually tastes like grapes. Very refreshing.

I'm a wine newbie to say the least, but working on it. This wine has a fruity but not too sweet taste that I loved. I loved it with spicy food (as it said on the lable) and just by itself a couple of days later. A little bit acidic to give it a kick, but not to much.

Fresh yet slightly sweet and thick, would be good crowd-pleaser at a Spring picnic or event, tastes of green apple, wet stone, and peach with a glycerin sheen, medium acid, medium body, with fruit lingering in a short-to-average finish. Nose of wet stone and fruit. I also liked the low alcohol of 8.5%, good for crowd control. Paired nicely with fresh fruit, a champagne mango from Mexico. Might serve best around 60 deg F.

Pretty disappointing. Yet another one of those american-style over-sweet Rieslings.

Luscious pear, peach and apple aromas retain the crisp sweet tart quality of ripening fruit just before harvest. On the palate, the medium-bodied wine is refreshing and juicy, with zippy acidity balancing bright flavors of pear, apricot, mango and lime. T

Dr. L. Riesling embodies the elegant and racy style of the steep slate soil vineyards in the Mosel valley. It is fruity and low in alcohol, with a refreshingly crisp taste that cools the palate. Excellent with spicy foods.

This wine was just selected as "Wine of the Year" in the latest edition of The Wine Trials" , a book that blind tastes under $15 wines against $50 and up counterparts. Dr. Ernst Loosen is a superstar winemaker in Germany’s Mosel River valley. His wines routinely bring high scores from critics worldwide. He works with his brother Thomas on this easy-drinking best buy Riesling, all with grapes from the steep-sloped, slate-infused vineyards flanking the Mosel. Just off-dry, it’s an ideal aperitif to pair with smoked salmon, goat cheese and charcuterie. Wine Spectator ranked it #62 on their Top 100 Wines for 2009 with a 90 point score saying “Sleek and tangy, showing apricot, lime and mango flavors matched to a lively structure. There's good harmony and persistence through the finish. Drink now through 2018.”
