Notes on the Longoria Albarino Clover Creek Vineyard Santa Ynez Valley 2006 : NVWE NOTES: Immediately engaging and somewhat exotic, the aromas of this lovely Albarino integrate fresh pear, lemon blossom, nut husk and mineral scents in a bright but soft-edged harmony. It has a sleek, polished mouthfeel and lots of refreshment, quietly caressing the palate, while titillating with lingering pear and Meyer lemon flavors. Certainly an outstanding summer sipper, its mineral undercurrents and natural zest will make it a fine companion to appetizers as varied as sushi, cold roasted chicken and read more...spicy grilled prawns.WINEMAKER NOTES: We are fortunate to be one of only a handful of wineries in California able to produce wine from this rare Spanish grape varietal. We style the wine to come close to the Albarinos from Rias Baixas and we have been delighted with the results. Very dry and lean with subtle aromatics this is the perfect wine to accompany oysters, Seabass, and other seafood dishes. Had this With a lobster dinner. Made a great accompaniment. Not a light fruity wine at all. Lots of complexity, with a creamy touch t oit. Fruit is there, but sings background. Very good.
