Long Shadows Wineries Cabernet Sauvignon Columbia Valley Feather 2003
Tasting Notes: Spicy black fruit aromas and flavors combine with a hint of toast to make for an expressive, age-worthy wine. Balanced, silky tannins and intense fruit flavors add dimension giving the wine a dense, rich mouth-feel Winemaking: Like the 2003 debut vintage of Feather, the 2004 reflects Randy's appreciation for the Columbia Valley. A frequent visitor here, particularly during the growing season, Randy has come to know Washington's vineyards well, checking yields, tasting, and inspecting the grapes' skins for a dark complexion before making the call to pick. This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon is hand-harvested, fermented in small lots and aged 23 months in Vicard French oak, Randy's cooper of choice at Dunn Vineyards as well.
Enjoyed this wine October 12, 2007. Black suede gloves cupping acorns. I proudly shared sips with everyone I saw. This bottle was a lovely present which I saved for a year.
I was really suprised by the texture and body of this cab. I had no idea it was an Oregon wine, tasted more like a big California Cab full of fruit and extremely smooth. I would definitely drink this again. We had it with lamb and it went perfectly.
