Long Meadow Ranch Sauvignon Blanc 2013
Clear and focused on the nose with a golden raspberry tone to the faintly herbal and slightly medicinal aromas of fennel, lemon pith and stone. This is very broad in the mouth with a very light, gauzy texture. The acidity is well integrated adding a bit of brightness to the core of soft, slightly creamy apple and green plum fruit flavors. A bit of minerality adds some detail to the modest finish. This is understated and quite elegant with a certain air of refinement to it. 88ptsAdd winemaker's notes

Citrusy and crisp. The aroma had me taken aback at first - it didn't smell like what I envision Sauvignon Blanc to be. Nice heat, very smooth, a great drink.
Lemony and grassy nose. Nice balance mineral and herbal notes on the palate.
On the nose, a lot of flowery aroma, very pleasant. The flowery notes continue onto the palate along with some very nice melon flavors. Nothing special on the finish. I enjoy this wine for sipping on its own and not trying to match it with food.
Light gold color, grassy, herbal nose nose, easy drinking with nice acidity.
I definitely agree with the first review the nose took me back a second especially for other sauvignon blancs I've been introducted too, lemony and herbal, perfect acidity, drinks well. I feel it could be paired with salad and light fish meal.
This is my favorite sauvignon Blanc. It reminds me of a sancerre. It's very easy to drink-even my "red win only" friends like this one

A daybright yellow with gold flecks illuminates the glass. The nose offers brow-raising crenshaw melon, lemon and herbal infused aromatics. Mouthwatering on the nose and in the mouth, a melon, kadota fig and citrus melody fill the palate, along with ... Neil Mechanic. This is the first white wine from this heretofore red producer. Long Meadow Ranch, headed by Ted Hall, who was the last head of the Robert Mondavi Corporation before it sold to Constellation, has a dynamic farm in the Mayacamas Mountains above Rutherford. He not only raises animals, makes olive oil, grows fruits and vegetables, and produces wine, he does so organically. This Sauvignon Blanc can now be placed among a growing pantheon of excellent Napa Valley wines of its type. The wine is grassy with green, sour berry and lime peel aromas. On the front of the palate we have grapefruit and lime zest notes with crisp acidity. It’s a bit green now because of its youth, but the gestalt coalesces with its edges smoothed due to the addition of 5 percent malolactic fermentation and sur lie ageing. Winemaker Ashley Heisey fermented 13 percent of the juice in neutral French oak barrels with the balance, tank-fermented. Best of all – the listed alcohol level is a mere 12.7 percent. Huzzah! The grapes are sourced from an undisclosed Rutherford vineyard managed by respected viticulturist Frank Leeds from an area best known for its Cabernets. Only 550 cases were produced. The release of this wine is most likely also due to the fact that LMR lost its entire bottled inventory from the 1994 vintage through ’02 in a warehouse fire last fall. It was among a slew of California wineries to befall the blaze.
