We are located approximately 120 miles north of San Francisco, in the southwestern corner of California's Mendocino County. The blanket of fog that ordinarily curls up from the coast most summer nights and then burns off during the warm dry sunny days allow the vineyards to produce grapes that slowly develop and ripen. We are one of the coolest of the state's so-called cool-climate wine regions. This is ideal for growing varietals such as Pinot Noir, Gewurztraminer, and Chardonnay. We have planted about 15 acres of Pinot Noir--using five different clones, and an acre of Gewurztraminer. Most of the vineyard is on south facing hills with a combination of well-drained sandy loam covering an underlying clay loam. The Navarro River forms our southern boundary and brings the fog right up to our door. Along with our grapes we grow strawberries, olives, plums, figs, tomatoes, a variety of leafy vegetables, lavender and a whole lot of raspberries. Read less

Coconut Rice Sweet Potato Cheesecake

RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.

I tasted this and enjoyed it alongside a Grand Echezaux, so that says a lot! My friend got me a bottle for my birthday. It is a heavier pinot, with a very full mouthfeel and a strong nose. Great berries and smooth features make this pinot well worth it. 14.7% by volume would make you think this was a zin or cab!

One of the better values this year, with raspberry and earth aromas. There's still a fair amount of acidity in the mid-palate, with raspberry and bing cherry flavors. A short finish brings this wine to an abrupt close.

Gorgeous, full mouthfeel. Blackberry and plum flavors, but shy aromas at this early stage. Plush finish, good acidity.

This is a Gold Medal Wine Club Pinot Noir series Selection. Londer Vineyard’s 2006 Anderson Valley Pinot Noir is a refined, elegant achievement with savory, concentrated flavors that beautifully express the region’s flavor potential. Medium ruby in the glass with bright rose glints, this Pinot showcases aromas of cranberry-raspberry cocktail, cinnamon sticks, fresh raspberries and strawberries. The medium body is well balanced with juicy acidity and very soft, fine-grained tannins. Notes of pomegranate and cranberry dominate the palate, with hints of baking spices, dried mushrooms and dark chocolate layered beneath. The finish lingers with notes of espresso and cherry.
