Londer Pinot Noir Anderson Valley Corby Vineyard 2006
I tasted this and enjoyed it alongside a Grand Echezaux, so that says a lot! My friend got me a bottle for my birthday. It is a heavier pinot, with a very full mouthfeel and a strong nose. Great berries and smooth features make this pinot well worth it. 14.7% by volume would make you think this was a zin or cab!
Gorgeous, full mouthfeel. Blackberry and plum flavors, but shy aromas at this early stage. Plush finish, good acidity.
One of the better values this year, with raspberry and earth aromas. There's still a fair amount of acidity in the mid-palate, with raspberry and bing cherry flavors. A short finish brings this wine to an abrupt close.
This is a Gold Medal Wine Club Pinot Noir series Selection. Londer Vineyard’s 2006 Anderson Valley Pinot Noir is a refined, elegant achievement with savory, concentrated flavors that beautifully express the region’s flavor potential. Medium ruby in the glass with bright rose glints, this Pinot showcases aromas of cranberry-raspberry cocktail, cinnamon sticks, fresh raspberries and strawberries. The medium body is well balanced with juicy acidity and very soft, fine-grained tannins. Notes of pomegranate and cranberry dominate the palate, with hints of baking spices, dried mushrooms and dark chocolate layered beneath. The finish lingers with notes of espresso and cherry.
I love this wine I have had it many times, fruty on the front with a wonderfull rich dark chocolaty finish!!
