Spicy, fruity wine with a marvelous warm aroma. At the risk of sounding like a nut, I have to say that I'd wear a perfume that smells like this wine.

A fairly-priced, high quality Zinfandel, this offering, from an organically cultivated vineyard, exhibits a dark ruby color, and delicious, up-front raspberry/cherry and assorted berry-like fruit intermixed with copious quantities of spice and pepper. On the palate, the wine is supple, round, medium to full-bodied, and graceful. With a charming, seductive personality, this middle-weight Zin (the alcohol is a reasonable 13.5%) is symmetrical, harmonious, and a good value. Drink it over the next 2-3 years.

A great zin for serving with barbecued meats, such as ribs or salmon, or vegetables, such as portobello mushrooms or grilled eggplant. Will drink best 2008 through 2010, or decant for immediate drinking.

Ripe and flavorful, with lots of complex earthy blackberry, tar, raisin and herbal notes, turning smooth and complex on the finish. Given the firm tannins, it's best to cellar short-term. Try through 2002.

Defines the briary, brambly, wild side of Zinfandel. Bone dry and tannic, its flavors are of dusty mulberries, loganberries, bitter cherries, root beer, balsamic and tobacco, with notes of wintergreen and white pepper. Drink with flank steak with a chimichurri sauce.

Sweet, spicy fruit, with nicely matched toasty oak framing it. Everything balances out; this actually has the best balance and most seductive fruit of the three Lolonis bottlings, and certainly represents the bast value.

Cover crops and leaf pulling are practiced to promote optimal vineyards conditions. Ladybugs, not chemicals, are used to combat pests.
