Fred Loimer is a man devoted to Austrias upstart Kamptal region, and this bottling reflects his fondness for both his estate parcel right outside Langenlois and the region overall. Fruit for it comes from both. It offers plenty of flint and mineral notes on a somewhat soft nose, along with just-ripe pineapple apricot, fig and honeycomb. A wine that perfectly defines what dry Riesling can be, with just the right balance of edginess and density.
A subtle Riesling with aromas of lime, green apple, apricot andundertones of fine blossoms. The palate reveals delicate, juicyfruitiness. A distinct play between sweetness (slight botrytis)and acidity lends finesse and lightness to the wine. A classic,refreshing Riesling. Goes well with light starters, fish dishes,and is excellent as an aperitif.
