I tried the 2007 1/2 bottle and was impressed. Learned this "Merlot" is actually a "Bordeaux Blend." I'd like to know the percentages of Merlot, Cab. Sauv., Malbec, Petit Verdot and Cab. Franc which made this vintage.

External Reviews for Lohr Me Los Osos
The aroma is dominated by blueberry and cherry fruit and layered with spicy, cedary oak on the finish. A medium-bodied Merlot that can be enjoyed alone or alongside any number of meat dishes.
The 2007 J. Lohr Estates Los Osos Merlot is dark crimson with a vibrant hue. Aromas of black cherry and blackberry fruit are framed with a signature, light chestnut oak note to complement the flavors of currant and cranberry. The addition of Malbec and Petit Verdot bring characteristic bright notes to an already flavorful wine. Our J. Lohr Los Osos Merlot is medium-bodied with firm and structured tannins, with a finish that is bright and activates the palate. Enjoy now or within ten years, with pork roast in a plum reduction sauce, or baked or roasted chicken. - Winery
The aroma is dominated by blueberry, raspberry and cherry fruit and layered with lifted spicy, cedary oak. The palate is greated by an array of red fruits similar to those on the nose, with tar, cedar and forest floor adding complexity. The wine has a full mid-palate and finish that carries the wine through, with a lingering hint of fruit and licorice spice.
J. Lohr's Merlot grapes are grown in Nacimiento-Los Osos, Arbuckle-San Ysidro and Arbuckle-Positas complex soils on their Los Osos vineyard in Paso Robles, where these well-drained but relatively poor soils have chalky or gravelly components. The resulting wine is dark, youthful and plum red in colour. It has complex aromas of blueberry, raspberry, violet and dried cherries with a bouquet of vanilla, caramel and toasted oak. The ripe and ample tannins and lovely Merlot fruit character are supported by good acidity creating a substantial wine with layers of complexity that make it an excellent choice to accompany hearty foods. The ideal compliment to the heartiest lamb, beef and wild game dishes.
Our J. Lohr Los Osos Merlot is medium-bodied with firm and structured tannins, with a finish that is bright and activates the palate.
