Coconut Rice Sweet Potato Cheesecake

RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.

The scent of cloves is obvious at first but tones of cherry and lavender can be detected as well. The clove comes through on the palate mixed with spice and earthiness(in a good way). In my opinion, a good wine for the price and it would be a great find if it were a few dollars less expensive (purchased locally at 16.00).

One of the finest Pinot Noir I've enjoyed in a long time. Maybe it was the occasion or the moment, but I will definitely enjoy again.

This 2009 Pinot Noir has a nice balance of fruit and spice. Aromas of clove and nutmeg accent the strawberry and black cherry tones. As the wine unfolds, it offers flavors of dried cranberry, black tea and toasted French oak.

The Lockwood Vineyard Pinot Noir vineyard is nestled at the foot of the Santa Lucia mountain range in Monterey County; the perfect location for producing wines of incredible quality. Since their beginnings in 1989, Lockwood Vineyards believe that World Class wines are only obtainable through quality winemaking and having the ideal location for the vineyard. Grapes : 100% Pinot Noir Maker : Darin Kinzie Region : USA / California / Monterey County Notes : The Lockwood Pinot Noir is a rich, ruby red colour with sweet, complex aromas of dark cherries, strawberrries and cinnamon spice. On the palate, bright red fruit and a touch of oak coincide with cinnamon for a complex, well structured and deliciously long finish. Serve : At 14-18c to accompany grilled salmon, or oven cooked roast beef. ABV : 13.5%

Winemaker Notes - This 2009 Pinot Noir has a nice balance of fruit and spice. Aromas of clove and nutmeg accent the strawberry and black cherry tones. As the wine unfolds, it offers flavors of dried cranberry, black tea and toasted French oak. A burst of red fruit complements the middle palate and the wine finishes with balanced tannin. Our Pinot Noir pairs well with seasonal salmon and herb roasted duck.

Our vineyard and winery staff agree that the 2007 Lockwood Pinot Noir is excellent. Block 7 produced a wine of intense color and concentration showing balance and grace. In the glass the aromatic fruit character is highlighted with the finest of French oak tones, allowing the fruit to prevail. Clove spice, ripe cherry and dried cranberry are supported by an earthy and well rounded mid palate. This multi-layered Pinot Noir can be enjoyed with grilled salmon, pasta with pesto, and roasted pork tenderloin.

Wine Tasting NotesThe Block 7 has a freshness that shows off the fruit of the Pinot Noir. The aromatics are reminirrent of rose petals with an essence of mulled spice. The color shows the hue of ruby and the flavors are delightful. Once in the glass all flavors show black cherry with a brisk hint of cranberry. The wine has balance and elegance and will keep your attention with generous layers of fruit.
