What to Expect

Barbera is one of the classic Grapes of Italy's Piedmont region, though it is popular throughout much of Northwest Italy and has gained a following in California. Searing acidity has been a trait of Barbera though modern viticultural techniques and warmer regions have tamed the acidity, resulting in medium-bodied wines with bright, red fruit tones that feature hints of violets, earth and plum with just a whisper of tannin.

Looks very young with its rich purple hue but is drinking now. Smooth plum fruit. Medium body on the lighter side but full in the mouth. An earthy minerality that carries through nicely on the finish. Quite tannic, drinks well now but should run a few more years.
