Llano Estacado Signature Melange 2009
Signature Mélange is a blend of 5 Rhone varieties; Carignane, Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre, and Viognier. Aromatically this is a delicate wine, floral and perfumed with hints of dried cherry fruits and plums. In the mouth it is silky smooth with hints of vanilla-coffee bean and cocoa flavors complimented by a medium tannin structure. This is a lighter, fruity, yet dry red wine. This wine was inspired by wines with origins near the Mediterranean Sea, and we refer to it as our "Texas Mediterranean Blend".
The simple mission of Llano Estacado, from its beginning in 1976 to its role as industry leader today, has been to embody the fabulous potential of Texas wines. This mission began with 1,300 cases of wine released in 1977. Today, Llano Estacado is the largest premium winery in the state of Texas, producing wines of world class quality, and taking the lead in introducing not just Texans, but the entire world, to the great wines made in Texas.
