Linne Calodo Zinfandel Blend Paso Robles Cherry Red 2009

Winemaker's Notes:

92 points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): The 2009 Cherry Red is another Zinfandel-based blend that shows the more feminine side of the grape in its soft, delicate expression of red raspberries, cherries, licorice and flowers. The intensity of the fruit builds nicely toward the multi-dimensional, textured finish. This is a fabulous wine from Matt Trevisan. The blend is 62% Zinfandel (Cherry Vineyard), 20% Mourvedre (Booker Vineyard) and 18% Syrah (Denner and Lock Vineyards). Anticipated maturity: 2012-2021. (Aug 2011)

Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Layered Rice Pudding

RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.

58% Zinfandel, 20% Mourvedre, 15% Syrah, 7% Petite Syrah This lush and young beauty first strikes with hints of black cherry, tar and cinnamon. Its velvet texture is packed with natural acidity and hints of smoked American wood. This wine is a dreamer and a believer all in the same glass. Dancing with a series of spins and flowing grace, Cherry Red will remind you why you fell in love with wine.
