What to Expect

Chardonnay is America's most popular grape and with good reason. Made in styles that range from steely, mineral laced wines with crisp green apple fruit to wines that are buttery, rich, and laden with tropical fruits, there is a Chardonnay that will appeal to every palate. Chardonnay is most closely associated with France's Burgundy region and California's Northern valleys though it has proven successful around the globe.

Winemakers Notes

The Lindemans South Africa wines are made with fruit sourced from key grape growing regions in the Western Cape region of South Africa. The Western Cape of South Africa and surrounding areas have a Mediterranean climate with warm, dry summers and good winter rainfall. A multi-district blend from vineyards in the Western Cape region of South Africa with significant sourcing from the Robertson Valley. The wine was matured with French and American oak. Green, with slight straw Melons and tropical aromas are enhanced by a hint of grapefruit and some sweet vanilla from the oak. Very attractive Chardonnay read more...fruit flavors, tropical with slight citrus. Some creamy texture gives the impression of a fuller flavored wine but this wine has a lightness, which encourages the next mouthful to be taken.    (hide)
