Lindemans Cabernet Sauvignon Padthaway Reserve 2010

Member Review by Chelsea D'Nae Coleman Sachno:

For the price, this wine is hard to beat! On the nose you get a bit of smoked chili and roses with cherry and a bit of truffle. On the palate you get a bit of bright cherrry and plum with candied fruits on the palate complete with vanilla and chocolate on the finish. Having just opened it, I can't discern whether it will develop more as it sits, but it is very pleasant to sip on its own. Will definitely buy again as an enjoyable every day wine! It's no Harlan, but it beats several wines in the $10-20 every day category, and is one of my new favorite budget-friendly Cabernets. For a special occasion or a time when the budget is less of an issue, I would go with a wine that is a bit more complex, such as the ZD, but it rivals Horse Heaven Hills for a fruit forward, full-bodied Cabernet on a budget.
