There’s an atmosphere of casual grace at Lincourt that invites you to kick back and relax. But don’t be fooled – we are serious about our wines and are extremely focused on our mission of creating wines that showcase the ideal grape growing conditions of Santa Barbara County! Founded in 1996 by Bill Foley, Lincourt is a producer of ultra premium wines from the Santa Ynez Valley. A long time wine enthusiast, Bill has been particularly enchanted with the wines of Burgundy. In 1994, when he and his wife Carol relocated their family to Santa Barbara, he discovered that the potential to produce some of America’s most distinguished versions of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay lay just miles north of his home. Bill and Carol named their new winery Lincourt, in homage to their two daughters, Lindsay and Courtney. The Lincourt winery is located in the heart of Santa Barbara wine country, on Alamo Pintado Road in the Santa Ynez Valley. Originally a dairy farm, the property retains the rural charm and simplicity of an earlier era. The quaint tasting room is located in the former farmhouse, a 1926 Sears Craftsman kit home. The barns have been converted to a winery and barrel rooms, and equipped to allow for handcrafted, premium winemaking. Great fruit, dedicated winemakers, an incredible climate and a serene setting - Lincourt provides the best of Santa Barbara wine country. Read less

From Lincourt Tasting Notes: Our 2009 Lindsay’s Pinot Noir is a beautiful example of classic Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir—delicate, subtle and endlessly layered. Notes of black cherry and worn leather explode on the nose followed by a rich brown sugar spice. Blueberry cobbler, lemon zest and freshly ground cardamom round out the palate. Full, ripe and harmonious, this is an intricate yet friendly wine and will resonate with all lovers of Pinot Noir. Vineyard Notes: 2009 was one of the driest vintages of the last two decades in Santa Barbara County. The lack of rainfall slowed vine growth and led to a smaller-than-normal crop of intensely flavored grapes. Harvest was well paced until a hard frost in late October motivated a quick and efficient finale to picking the last of our fruit before the grapes suffered any damage. Overall the vintage yielded wines characterized by bright acid and intense, crisp, focused fruit. Winemaker Notes: The fruit was hand-harvested and sorted in the vineyard prior to arrival at the winery. The clusters were then carefully destemmed to keep the berries intact. Additional hand sorting removed any jack stems before the fruit was transferred to small, stainless steel, open-top fermenters. The juice and skins were cold–soaked for four days prior to fermentation and then gently punched down for 14-24 days. After primary fermentation was complete, the new wine was drained and the skins were gently pressed. The wine was barrel aged in 100% French oak barrels (30% new). Purchased at Tim's in Orlando for $20/bottle
