($175) Bright red-ruby. Pure, discreet aromas of black fruits and licorice. Dense, sweet and highly concentrated, with a sappy core of acidity giving verve to the dark berry and floral flavors. A wine with terrific nervosite, without being at all hard. Wonderfully long and aromatic, with firm tannins in perfect balance with the wine's fruit.

As soon as one puts nose to the glass, it's instantly clear that this is at another level with its wonderful aromatic complexity, revealing subtle hints of coffee, ripe berries and an interesting herbal component followed by big, concentrated, very powerful large-scaled flavors and stunning length. This is relatively understated for such a big wine but it packs plenty of flavor authority and there is a crystalline purity to the extract that elevates this to the sublime. In short, this is a very classy wine of both power and elegance.
