Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Coconut Rice Sweet Potato Cheesecake

RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.

It was a Sunday and my boyfriend and I were having dinner with my grandparents. I had just gotten back from Brooklyn and had this killer Mexican corn, and I had to try to make it for everyone. We grabbed some sweet corn on the cob, a cut of haddock and this lovely Vouvray. The main grape in Vouvray happens to be Chenin Blanc, which also happens to be Francersquo;s answer to Germanyrsquo;s Riesling. It is a multifaceted grape, producing wines in a range of bone dry to super-sweet styles. This particular wine was a perfect match: dry, but juicy! A nose of crisp green apple, rich and creamy at first, followed by a burst of pear and apple flavors, finishing up with a lively acidity and a bright citrus tang that lingered. We took the rest home and it was simply beautiful by itself. Give something new a try; yoursquo;ll shout hooray for Vouvray!

This fine Vouvray has a nose of crisp green apple. The wine is rich and creamy at first, followed by an off-dry burst of pear and apple flavors that finish with lively acidity.
