Lido Bay's Seven Seas Chardonnay 2010
Our grapes come from the famous Sierra Madre Vineyard in the Santa Maria Valley of Santa Barbara County. With 20% fermented and aged for nine months in new French Oak barrels going through Malolactic fermentation, and the balance in stainless steel tanks and no ML, the end result is a fresh style with full body that appeals to a broad range of palates.
Fairly big and ripe Santa Barbara county chardonnay. This hits the glass with dark gold/honey color and is more on the tree fruit side of taste. Flavors of apricot, honeysuckle, a touch of oak, ripe pear and just a hint of clove go along with medium acidity and a slightly thick mouth feel.
I usually drink reds, but this Seven Seas chardonnay is a perfect wine for summertime when a full-bodied red seems too heavy.
