Food Pairings for Librandi Cirò Bianco
Editorial Reviews for Librandi Cirò Bianco
Lovely nose full of apple fruit topped with notes of hawthorn, cream and light floral notes. Light and crisp in the mouth yet with lovely intensity of yellow apple fruit up front and flavors that allude to sweetness. This is round, yet not soft with fairly intense fruit flavors draped over a lean framework that powers through on the finish delivering refreshing quartzy mineral flavors. This is really quite attractive and nicely balanced as an everyday drinker; complex enough to be interesting and yet simply delicious. 87pts

Offering a varied palette of Mediterranean and tropical aromas such as ripe peach, pineapple, cedar and bitter orange, followed by delicate notes of Mediterranean herbs and flowers. This wine is fresh in the mouth, with a crisp minerality following the juicy fruit flavors. A pleasant acidity lingers on the finish with subtle hints of toasted almonds.
Here's a well structured and creamy rosé from Calabria, southern Italy, that opens with a bright pink color and enticing aromas of raspberry and cranberry jelly. Thanks to that extra density, you could pair this wine with roast chicken or pork chops.
A bit of an odd duck in the world of rosé, the Librandi Rosato is made from 100% Gaglioppo, a robust native grape, and is darker in color than one would expect. Dark, heavy rosés allow Italian wine-drinkers to chill a wine that is almost red, to help alleviate the summer heat. Great with appetizers, salads, and don't forget dessert - try it with vanilla ice cream or cheesecake.
Cir Rosso (from Calabria) offers a delightful bouquet of spice, dried fruit, wild berries and plums. Excellent texture and firm, ripe tannins are hallmark attributes of this wine. Incredibly rich and easy-going, Cir Rosso is the wine of choice for spicy meat dishes, roasted baby goat or lamb, and roasted meat with peppers.
