very average. no finish or complexity. you wouldn't be able to pick this wine out of a line-up. has the feel of a pinot and not a cab.
Very nice cabsav at a decent price. Slightly on the dry side, I made braised lamb using half the bottle and served the rest with the meal.
Better options available at this price point.
Yeast, vanilla, blackberries and cedar nose. Very closed, mostly tannins with a little vanilla. Unsweetened cocoa is hiding in there somewhere with a little fruit. Short finish, but perhaps worth waiting three years or more.
A friend brought a couple of bottles of 2005 Liberty School Cabernet to a dinner party we recently had...never having noticed or heard of the vineyard before.....I did not know what I was missing. For a value priced cabernet (can usually be found for $15 or less) it is consistently a good buy. Pairs well with usual cabernet faire........is good with grilled red meat (burgers, kabobs, steaks), portabella mushrooms, lamb, meaty or spicy pastas. It has a robust and meaty texture. There are well defined tannins, mixed with ripe berry fruits, hint of chocolate and a rich vanilla finish.
Very smooth and subtle wine for an even better price.

The 2004 Liberty School Cabernet Sauvignon offers upfront aromas of ripe blackberry, chocolate and cassis, with hints of vanillin. Similar deep berry flavors are enhanced by elegant tannins and a rich, full finish. A diversity of porous soils and microclimates among our various vineyards contributes to excellent depth and complexity of flavors in the glass.
Always a pretty dependable Cab at around this price, the '05 is soft and basically dry, with very ripe flavors of cherry jam and blackberry preserves, and rich, dusty tannins to bite through barbecue.
