Medium-dark red. Intense, atypically aromatic nose shows clove and cinnamon joining fresh black fruits. Enters sweet and fruity, with intense flavors of dark plum, leather and minerals, then turns astringent with tough tannins at the back on the moderately long finish. This interesting wine strikes me as a little disjointed at present; perhaps six more months in the bottle will help smooth it out.
