Basically, this was not displeasing but I've had better Pic St. Loup, even at the sub- $15 level. I paid $13 for this bottle, and I think it would've been at its peak in 2009 or so. As it was, it was just a little bit flat and not as interesting as I expected. Definitely benefits from an hour or so to breathe. After that: a decent nose with some smokey, subdued berry aromas. Starts out a bit tart and thin, but has a nice dryness on the tongue. Some earthy, mineral flavors come out gradually, and a nice long dry finish.
