Lewis Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley Reserve 2009
This elegant and opulently spiced 2009 Reserve Cabernet is sourced from a small collection of hillside and benchland vineyards rooted in the Oak Knoll and Calistoga appellations. Infused with exotic oak, cocoa and clove spices this blend of 98% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Petit Verdot is powerfully aromatic. Sweet black currant and boysenberry flavors gradually take the backseat to a more muscular mid-palate framed with sinewy tannins and baker's chocolate. Not yet reviewed; 2008 vintage rated 94 points by Wine Spectator.
In 1992, Debbie and Randy Lewis established a small family winery with their son Dennis. Total production is approximately 9,000 cases annually of Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Merlot and Syrah. We are literally hands-on in every aspect of vineyard management, winemaking, sales and distribution, and we thrive on this challenge and the relationships we cultivate in the process. It is our continuing goal to create world class wines.
