Les Hauts du Tertre Red Bordeaux Blend Margaux 2005
A terrific, fruit-forward Margaux offering wonderful smoky, melted licorice, chocolate, espresso, creme de cassis, and wild mountain berry notes. These are Robert Parkers words on the first wine, Ch. Du Tertre, rated 91-93. Here we have the same characteristics in the excellent 2nd label for a fraction of the price. Savvy shoppers know where the smart money is.
Opaque ruby in color, with strong developing nose of black cherry, blackcurrant, liquorice, smoke and savory notes. Medium acidity but medium+ tannin and body, with a medium+ palate of vanilla, blackcurrant, black cherry, liquorice. Medium+ length and good quality. Ready to drink now but can further develop.
