Les Forts de Latour Red Bordeaux Blend Pauillac 2006

Winemaker's Notes:

We had been a bit disappointed with the quality of the Second wines in 2006until we tasted this astonishingly good Forts de Latour. We scored this winebetter than the two Pichons, which were themselves two of the best SecondGrowths in 2006. This has outstanding balance and pedigree from the dense, dark, aromatic nose to the very long, pure finish. The wine reflects theelegance of 2006 with lifted, cool black fruit on the palate, a great structureand savoury tannins.

Layered Rice Pudding

RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.

Very solid with an excellent core of fruit and chewy tannins but not too aggressive. Full body. Medium finish. Well done. -J.S. Wine Spectator.
